Hey friends, Jiahui posted an article about her experience for the "We Love Singapore Party". For the actual URL.
Yesterday evening, in honour of our nation’s birthday, my friend and I went to one of our favourite vegetarian places, Food #03, which is part of Post-Museum. Post-Museum calls themselves “an independent cultural and social space which seeks to examine contemporary life, promote the arts and connect people”. They always have many interesting exhibitions (in fact, they are having a small one right now), so you should check out their website for event calenders and such.
One problem is that it’s located all the way in the Jalan Besar/Little India area (yes it IS far, but it’s worth it!). Getting there isn’t too bad, they have quite a few buses (from Bukit Timah, you have 66 and 67. Cabbing isn’t TOO bad either, ~$12 from NP? The address is 107+109 Rowell Road!). They were having some kind of pre-National Day event (aptly named We Love Singapore, haha imaginative). We didn’t really know what to expect, but we made our way there anyway for the food!
My friend (let’s call her X because I like that letter) was pretty ravenous because she’d walked all the way there from the nearest MRT (Farrer Park), while my father very kindly decided to drive me all the way there. Thank god; I can’t imagine walking (especially in this humidity!). Oh, and I apologise once again for the low-quality pictures! I’d left my DSLR in my locker in school and I couldn’t get it because the room is locked. So you have to settle for bad, low-res phone images (5.0 megapixels, yeah right).

3. We are starting a community kitchen - for people who are interested to start a food business but have no capital. This is a good platform for people to get together and create a money-making opportunity.
4. In view of the increase in food prices, we are expanding our co-op scheme where you can get food stuff at lower prices.
5. We are looking for more funds to continue our work, and we currently have some artworks by local artists for sale. Prices start at $50. Do support us as well as local artists through the purchase of artworks.
6.Join the Indie Fair-trade network. We are currently distributing Fair-trade tea, coffee and coco for Cafe-Direct. This companies dedicates 60% of their profit into redeveloping the farming communities. So ever wondered how a cuppa coffee can change the world? Convince your neighbourhood cafes to stock Fair-trade products, buy fair-trade coffees, teas, coco for your office pantry, sell it at your local flea market. Support the small local cafes and small enterprises by buying Cafe direct through this Indie Fair-trade network instead of big supermarket chains (we sell them at the same price).
